International Night

Are you ready for cross-cultural adventure that does not require reservations or a passport, but does include food, games and classic literature?

International Night is Friday, December 7, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Meadow Montessori families come from diverse backgrounds, and our community is truly an international one; we encourage one another to share their differences.  There are other members of the community that may never have been to a different continent but have discovered ethnic diversity in this country; this invitation is for you also.  Please do not restrict yourself to your child's classroom continent; share what you know.

Many of our new families may not have had the opportunity to experience International Night, so here is a brief introduction.

Each classroom takes on the culture of a continent (with the exception of North America and Antarctica) and the following classrooms have "adopted" the following continents and countries this year:

  • Senior Room - Asia
  • Intermediate East - Africa
  • Intermediate West - Europe
  • Junior East - Australia
  • Junior West - South America
  • High School - British Isles

We know that food makes the world go around (and our International Night a success) so let us know if you can share a cultural dish, dessert, or drink. This year, food will be available in the ETC room and the art room; beverages will be available in the ETC room as well as in the classroom countries.

Your Room Parent will be contacting you with more information. Please volunteer to make International Night a SUCCESS.
