The following schedule is a suggested timeline.  Please use it as a guide to help keep the project from being completed at the last minute.

Week of October 27:  Choose topic, locate resources and begin reading.  Write thesis statement.  Write 10-15 questions about topic and find answers.  ***

Week of November 3-7:  Continue to read and research topic.  Organize thoughts onto note cards and use to help form the report.

Week of November 10-14:  Rough draft of report is due Monday, November 10.  Model and/or display should be underway at home!

Week of November 17-21:  Report is corrected and re-written or typed for final draft. Put finishing touches on model/display.

Friday, November 21:  Practice reading report to a friend and/ or family.

Monday, November 24:  All projects are due.  Classroom presentations take place during the morning.

Wednesday, November 26:  History Fair ends at noon.  Take projects home!

***Note:  We will be able to spend about 20-30 minutes per day working on research/ report writing during the school day.  The children are welcome to complete the whole project at home, or use a combination of home and school to complete the report.  As a general guide, reports should be at least 1-2 pages long and all information needs to be cited in a bibliography.  Children will have 5-10 minutes to give their presentations in class.  Children may display their research in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to; boards, timelines, models, and costumes.  If you have any questions, just ask!
