Meadow Montessori Cross Country 2008

Welcome back returning runners, and welcome new runners!

The MMS cross county team (MMS CC) is a co-ed, grades 1-12 competitive team.  We will conduct weekly practices at school, as well as assign training for the practice days when we do not meet as a group.  As a team, we will be participating in five citywide invitational meets. The season lasts through October 18, 2008. The following distances apply for the invitational/meets according to grade level:

1-6:                      1-1.5 miles
7,8:                       2 miles
9,10,11,12:           3.1 miles (5K)

As a team, we have plenty of time to practice running the above distances.  This means that we will help all runners achieve their individual goals-no experience necessary! Everyone is welcome to join the team and we are encouraging all elementary students to try it out. There is a $100.00 fee which is payable to Meadow Montessori School, or ask about charging it to your family ledger.

11/2/08: Woodhaven Run in the Park, Woodhaven Community Center
11/27/08: Turkey Trot, Downtown Detroit

Please note that most cross country invitationals take place in the morning and are arranged by age group. Specific details for events will be given as they become available; however, please let us know if you will not be participating in a specific event.
