Running Club

Welcome back runners!   And welcome to all the new runners!   We are pleased to announce the continuing success of the Meadow Montessori running club.   This is an invitation to new runners, as well as a review for past runners.

Who: Any elementary student at MMS

What: A non-competitive running club

When: Every Thursday, from 4:00 PM- 5:00 PM

Where: Meadow Montessori School-ETC (extended time care program)

Why: To exercise while having fun

Cost: Part of the ETC program ($4.50/hour if not enrolled)

As a group, we set out for a trip through the beautiful grounds of the Monroe County Community College.   We take stops along the way to do some exploring. This club does meet rain or shine (as long as weather conditions permit); which means that it is so important to be dressed appropriately.   There is nothing worse than having to turn down a runner because s/he is not wearing proper clothing. We usually cover about one mile during our run. (Note: In case of severe weather, we will meet for an indoor yoga class instead).

Runners must have a water bottle, as well as a clean change of clothing for running club. It is in our nature to get muddy while out exploring, and it is sometimes necessary to change when we get back from our run.  

Interested parents are encouraged to join us in our effort to stay fit. We welcome both fast-walkers and seasoned trail runners to come spend some time with the group. Please see me prior to leaving for a run so I can give a quick overview of the rules for our runners.
