Chess Club

Welcome to MMS's Chess Club. This is an invitation to all those who want to learn how to play chess, as well as participate in some tournament play.

Who: Any elementary or secondary student at MMS-- all ages and playing levels are welcome

What: An opportunity to learn and play chess

When: The second, third, and fourth Tuesday of every month from 4:00 - 5:00 (dates listed below)

Where: MMS elementary building

Why: To expand our understanding of chess

Cost: $30 for the fall semester

The goals and expectations of the MMS Chess Club are for students to develop a basic understanding of the rules of chess and learn game strategies. Club members will have an opportunity to compete in tournament play. Ashley Carter, the coach, is one of the top ranked players in the country.  

MMS supplies all the equipment, so all students need to bring is a willingness to learn.
